How to Get Rid of Cockroaches in Muscat (For Good)
Why cockroaches keep coming back
If you've killed roaches only to see them return in weeks, you're not doing anything wrong — the problem is where they come from. In Muscat apartment buildings, cockroaches travel between units through shared drainage, pipe gaps and wall voids. You can clear your flat completely and still get re-infested from a neighbour. That's why one-off spraying rarely holds.
The method that actually works: spray + gel
Professionals don't rely on a single product. Our cockroach treatment uses two things together:
- Residual spray for fast knockdown of the exposed population — this handles roughly 70–75% of the roaches you can see.
- Gel bait for the rest. Roaches feed on the bait and carry it back to hidden areas — behind appliances, inside electronics, deep in cracks — where spray can't reach. This is the "domino effect" that clears the colony.
We use Advion Cockroach Gel because it's highly palatable and roaches haven't developed resistance to it the way they have to older baits. For crack-and-crevice spots, a dusting powder like Tox DP reaches voids that neither spray nor gel can.
Do this alongside treatment
- Fix leaks and dry out sinks — roaches need water more than food
- Store food sealed and clear grease from behind the cooker
- Seal gaps around pipes, drains and skirting
- Empty bins nightly and keep drains covered
DIY vs professional
For a light, early problem you can treat it yourself with the right products from our product range. But for a heavy or recurring infestation — especially in a shared building — professional treatment plus a schedule is the reliable route, because timing and placement matter as much as the product.
Why the gel needs a few weeks
Gel bait takes about 3–4 weeks to fully take effect as roaches feed and the colony collapses. A heavy infestation may need a second treatment around four weeks after the first. Once cleared, our cockroach warranty runs up to 3 months for apartments and 4 for villas.
Keep them gone: quarterly service
Because apartments constantly re-seed from shared drainage, we recommend treatment every three months. It's the single biggest difference between "gone for a month" and "gone for good".
